Maria Lambides is the Founding Director of Alpha Phronesis. With an impressive entrepreneurial background, Maria has launched and developed numerous consultancies focused on strategy, marketing, government grants, technology and innovation, as well a membership-based small business/entrepreneurial network with over 25,000 members.
An accomplished professional, she entered the world of university research over 15 years ago and was responsible for the strategic direction and growth of a research institute focused on choice behaviour and decision making.
Throughout this period, Maria gained extensive experience working closely with high-profile academics and their research teams and used her interpersonal, leadership and management skills to develop a culture of excellence and collaboration. This was further augmented by her focus on building a professional infrastructure for the researchers that went beyond the traditional administrative support provided in universities.
During this experience, she succeeded in translating complex analytical solutions and academic theory into applied projects with practical outcomes. Working globally with organisations as the World Bank, Motorola, Anheuser Busch, LendLease and Bose Corporation as well as numerous government departments, she has witnessed first hand the power of innovative thinking and research when applied to business and policy decisions.
Maria also has developed her own research stream focused on strategy, competitive positioning, and stakeholder alignment. She has conducted numerous projects across various areas such as new technology diffusion, higher education adoption and volunteering in aged-care facilities.
